Softball Announces 2020 Schedule

STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific head softball coach Brian Kolze has announced his squad's full 2020 slate, that includes matchups against Pac-12 foes California and Washington.

In total, the Tigers will face nine programs that saw NCAA Tournament action in 2019 and will participate in five of their six tournaments against NCAA Tournament competition.

"We are really excited with our schedule this year," Kolze said. "We have some great early tournaments that will challenge us. We also have some great home games including perennial conference champion BYU, Cal and 2019 World Series participant Washington."

The Tigers open the 2020 slate on Friday, February 7 with their second straight season-opening appearance at the Titan Classic in Fullerton, facing UC Riverside, Utah State and Middle Tennessee State in addition to host Cal State Fullerton.

Pacific will open its home schedule with the annual Libby Matson Tournament against Seattle, Cal State Northridge, CSU Bakersfield and Nevada, starting on February 14 against Seattle.

It'll be a short-lived opening weekend for the Tigers, as they'll return home just once between then and March 21. After the Libby Matson Tournament, Pacific will make stops at the Bulldog Classic in Fresno followed by the DeMarini Tournament at Stanford. The Tigers come back to Stockton for a midweek game against San Jose State on Tuesday, March 3 before heading north to the Wolf Pack Classic hosted by Nevada.

The Tigers will make a quick stop at UC Davis for another midweek contest on Tuesday, March 10 before making their second appearance in three years at the Grand Canyon Tournament March 13 through 15.

Pacific will play 15 of its final 21 games at Bill Simoni Field, hosting Cal Poly in a three-game series the weekend of March 20 before welcoming California to Stockton March 25 for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch and UC Davis the next day at 6:00 p.m. to close out the bulk of non-conference play.

West Coast Conference action opens for Pacific the weekend of April 3, hosting defending WCC champion BYU in a three-game series at Bill Simoni Field. The three-game swing for the Cougars is one of three WCC series played at home this season out of five total.

For a final shot at an NCAA Tournament opponent, Pacific will take a break from conference action on April 15 to host 2019 Women's College World Series runner up Washington in a 6:00 p.m. showdown.

The Tigers will wrap up their home slate April 25-26 with a three-game series against San Diego before closing out 2020 in Moraga against Saint Mary's the following weekend.

Broadcast information for all contests will be announced at a later date. Be sure to follow Pacific Softball on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the latest news and notes.
