Pacific to Face LMU, Pepperdine in Final Road Series

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's volleyball team will play in its final road series of the 2019 season with matches at Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Pacific recorded a split its final weekend series at home. The Tigers dropped a five-set match to Gonzaga and defeated Portland, 3-1.
  • It was a career weekend for Gabby Leo, Jadyn Tubbs, and Carissa Bradford. Against Gonzaga, Leo dished out 53 assists and Tubbs collected 32 digs. Bradford had her career performance against Portland, smashing 15 kills. 

     

VS. LMU

  • Pacific controls the all-time series, 12-4. Most recently the Tigers fell to the Lions in five sets at home on Oct. 19.

VS. PEPPERDINE

  • The Tigers fell to the Waves, 3-1, in its first meeting this season.
  • Pacific trails in its all-timer series with Pepperdine, 18-15, which includes a 1-6 record on the road.

     

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE TIGERS

  • With just four contests remaining, Pacific will look to finish at .500 or above for the ninth time in 10 seasons. 
  • Pacific leads the Conference in four statistical categories — Assists (1,271), digs (1,598), kills (1,373), and attacks (3,838). The team's totals and in assists, kills, and attacks rank top 30-nationally.
  • Sophomore Riley Patterson continues to compete at the highest level, leading the WCC in points (410.5), attacks (978), and kills (364), while also ranking third in points per set (3.87) and kills per set (3.43).
  • Libero Jadyn Tubbs is the Conference's total digs leader with 447 and ranks second wit 4.22 digs per set.

     

SCOUTING THE LIONS

  • LMU remains in the win column, holding records of 13-12, 7-6 in the WCC, despite dropping four of its last five contests.
  • Savannah Slattery averages team-highs of 3.74 points and 3.44 kills per set. 
  • Mary Shroll commands the back row with 4.16 digs per set.

     

SCOUTING THE WAVES

  • Pepperdine boasts as stellar record of 14-10, including a 10-3 mark in WCC play.
  • The Waves have won three-straight and are 8-2 in their last 10 matches.
  • Shannon Scully is Pepperdine's top arm, as she averages 3.65 points and 3.14 kills per set. In addition, she collects 3.03 digs per set.
  • Middle-blocker Tarah Wylie hits a team-high .344 and averages 1.09 bocks per set.
  • Isabel Zelaya (9.62 ass/set)  and Tayah Mahi (8.68 ass/set) share time at setter.
