Â
Despite the loss, the Tigers were stout on defense throughout the entire match as the Gaels scored their lone goal on a penalty kick in the 14

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Aiming to get back in the win column after dropping an overtime heartbreaker to LMU last Saturday, the Tigers played steady defense against the WCC's top goal-scoring team out of the gates, not allowing the Gaels to score from the field on any of their six shots in the first half.
- Unfortunately, Saint Mary's would take an early 1-0 lead on a penalty kick goal from Anders Engebretsen in the 14th minute.
- Not being able to find much momentum on the offensive side, Pacific did not record their first shot of the match until the 37:05 mark. Sophomore Mamoru Kamisasanuki then ripped his lone shot of the day, barely missing the top portion of the net as the ball curved over the crossbar. Unable to find the equalizer, the Tigers trailed the Gaels at the halftime break, 1-0.
- Continuing the strong defensive play for from the first half, Pacific did not allow SMC to register a shot in the second half until 57:51.
- Just a few minutes later, senior Tariq Branche recorded his first shot on goal at the 63:54 mark, but was ultimately denied by the Saint Mary's goalie, Remi Prieur.
- Freshman Derick Roque also attempted to tie the match with a shot of his own at 75:40, but ended up missing high and to the left as the Tigers could not even the score at one.
- Known as one of the best defensive teams in the nation, SMC held Pacific from shooting the rest of the match, closing out the victory, 1-0, to remain undefeated in conference play.
- Overall, junior goalie Ethan Bandre contributed to the solid defensive outing for the Tigers, tallying 4 saves in the match.
