Tigers Wrap Up Play at ITA Northwest Regionals

STANFORD, Calif. –The Pacific women's tennis team capped off another successful weekend of action on Sunday, concluding play at the ITA Northwest Regionals with four singles consolation matches at Stanford's Taube Family Tennis Stadium. 
 
Of those four consolation matches, two involved members of a talented freshman class that has impressed on a variety of levels this fall season. 
 
"This event gave us a good look at how we stack up against some of the top players in the country," Tigers head coach Mike Erwin said. "Our squad rose to the occasion and won more matches than we have in recent history. We are going to be working hard at improving our doubles play and look forward to our final fall event at San Jose State in a couple weeks."
 
Singles 
  • Pacific went 2-2 in consolation matches to wrap up Regionals play with both wins coming in straight sets. 
  • Freshman Zoe Eberle started the day off with a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 win over Cal Poly's Melissa LaMette, followed by Maya Clay downing Fresno State's Georgia Lawson 6-4, 6-3. 
  • Georgia Townsend stayed in her match but fell 4-6, 4-6 to Cal Poly's Emily Ackerman while freshman Danielle Zamora fell to Fresno State's Jane Ellis 0-6, 2-6.
