Pacific Opens Tournament Play Against UC Riverside

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's basketball team will get very little rest between last night's contest in Las Vegas and this weekend's Tiger Thanksgiving Classic. The Tigers will open tournament play Thursday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.

Winning Start

  • Despite coming off of a tough loss at UNLV on Tuesday night, Pacific continues to hold a winning record to open the season, currently boasting a 3-2 overall record.
  • Pacific has snagged victories against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Stanislaus State, and Idaho State. The Tigers game against Stanislaus State was also a part of this weekend's tournament play. 


Last Time Out
The Tigers struggled offensively against UNLV on the road, falling to the Runnin' Rebels, 96-70 in Las Vegas. Roberto Gallinat led Pacific in its efforts, leading three players in double-digit scoring. Gallintat totaled 13 points in just 15 minutes of play. Anthony Townes scored 12 points, while Ajari Sanni knocked down 11 points.


Scouting UC Riverside

  • Pacific holds a 21-4 overall record against the Highlanders, including last season's narrow 57-55 win in Riverside. 
  • The Tigers have won four-straight and six-of-seven in their more recent meetings with UCR. 
  • UCR is coming off of a 10-point victory at UC Merced, which is also considered a part of tournament play.
  • Dikymbe Martin highlights the offense with 14.3 points per game. Martin also contributes 4.0 rebounds per game. 
  • Defenseively, Eric Rwahwire averages a team-high 5.5 rebounds per game.
