Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After seeing their four-game win streak snapped in a narrow loss to Saint Mary's on Saturday, the Pacific Tigers (10-11, 5-3 WCC) embark on a stretch of four consecutive road games beginning on Thursday night at the San Francisco Dons (11-10, 3-5 WCC). Pacific will try and earn its first win at War Memorial Gym since Dec. 5, 2007. The Tigers have dropped their last five meetings in San Francisco and are 1-8 in nine games versus the Dons since rejoining the WCC in 2013-14.
The Tigers led most of the game on Saturday versus Saint Mary's but dropped a heartbreaking 72-69 decision to the Gaels. Lafayette Dorsey poured in a career-high 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting while Anthony Townes and Jahlil Tripp both added 14 points. Pacific shot 49 percent (24-for-49) from the floor. It marked Pacific's first loss since their loss at Saint Mary's on Jan. 4.
San Francisco is coming off an 80-73 win at home on Saturday versus Pepperdine. Frankie Ferrari led the way for the Dons with 22 points on 6-for-16 shooting, including a 7-for-10 effort from the line. The Dons shot 44.6 percent (25-for-56) from the floor. The victory snapped a three-game skid for the Dons in which they lost to Loyola Marymount, Gonzaga and Santa Clara.
The Dons are led by Souley Boum, a true freshman from Oakland Technical High School, who's averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game on 39 percent shooting. Veterans Chase Foster and Jordan Ratinho are averaging 11.5 and 10.6 points per game, respectively.
The Dons swept the season series with the Tigers in 2016-17, winning 72-51 at San Francisco on Jan. 14 and 81-60 at Pacific on Jan. 28. Pacific's lone win in the series since 2013-14 came at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Feb. 25, 2016, a 79-70 decision. The Tigers were 9-3 in their last 12 meetings with USF prior to rejoining the WCC in games ranging from 2000-2012. Pacific, however, has historically struggled at War Memorial Gym as they've gone 8-40 all-time at the venue.
