STOCKTON, Calif. - The Toreros proved to be too much for the Tigers on Friday afternoon as San Diego blanked host Pacific 4-0. The loss drops the Tigers to 5-10 overall, 0-5 in West Coast Conference play while the win brings the Toreros to 8-9 this season, 4-0 in conference action. 

"A few of our players got off to slow starts which was unfortunate," said head coach Tina Samara. "Maayan and Anna were in control of their matches but were unable to finish. We have to do a way better job of staying out there longer."

Anneroos Nederstigt saw herself down early at the two spot and quickly fell 6-3, 6-2. The struggles continued as Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz fell 6-3, 6-4 at the four spot to her opponent and Yuki Asami lost at the six 6-0, 6-2. After falling in her first set 6-1, Sabrina Rodriguez bounced back in the second and force a tie breaker. However the sophomore was unable to force a third as she fell 7-6 (5).

Maayan Sela edged out her opponent at the one spot 7-6 (4) and was ahead in the second 2-1 when her match went unfinished. Anna Ramos Vinolas also went unfinished as she split the first two sets 6-4, 4-6. With the match already decided, doubles was not played. 

The Tigers will now cap off regular season home play tomorrow when BYU comes to town, with match time is set for noon. The contest with the Cougars will also be Pacific's senior day as the Tigers will honor Christiana Ferrari and Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz, who will be playing their final regular season home match.
