Davis, Calif. - The No. 4 Pacific men's water polo team rolled to a 20-9 win over No. 16 Cal Baptist Friday at the UC Davis Aggie Roundup.
Luke Pavillard, Tim Reeves and Devon Thumwood scored four goals each. Luis Araya and Derek Clappis each scored twice, while Engin Ege Colak, Lucas Hastie, Aleksandar Petrovic and Ikko Saito also scored.
Alen Osmanovic recorded nine saves in goal, as Pacific improves to 6-0 on the season.
The Tigers have won 61-straight matches against teams outside the MPSF/Golden Coast Conference.
Pacific opened with a 1-0 lead as Colak scored 90 seconds in. Araya tallied back-to-back to kick off a flurry of goals to close the first quarter. Reeves, Petrovic and Thumwood stretched the Tigers lead to 6-0 before the Lancers got on the board with a goal two seconds before the quarter ended.
Thumwood, Pavillard and Hastie finished as the Tigers led 9-1, and the Tigers carried a 10-2 lead into halftime.
Pavillard opened the third with two goals, and after Andres Schmidt set up Clappis, Thumwood finished off passes from Pavillard and Andrea De Nardi. De Nardi assisted on Pavillard's fourth of the game before Clappis' second goal finished off an 8-1 third quarter giving Pacific a 18-3 lead.
Brent Teraoka and Dominick Nevarez each scored twice for Lancers, who scored six of their nine goals in the fourth quarter.
Pacific finished the game 5-for-8 on power play situations.
The Tigers face No. 20 Santa Clara on Saturday at 8:20 a.m.
