36 Holes Complete In The Desert

Scottsdale, Ariz. - After 36 holes at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate the Tigers' golf team found itself in ninth place overall having posted a team score of +17 on the opening day of action. The Tigers were led by their junior for the second-straight weekend as Geoff Fry put himself inside the tournament's top-20 having shot even-par for the first two rounds of play.

For Fry, the day started with a two-under, 70, which placed the junior into a tie for sixth after the first 18 holes of action. He would fall slightly behind the pack during the second go around the course in Scottsdale when he shot a +2, 74 to finish the day at even par overall. In all, Fry tied for 19th on the leaderboard and eight strokes back of the leader Texas A&M's Ben Crancer, who will take a two-shot lead into the final day of play on Tuesday. 

Behind Fry, senior SeungJae Maeng posted an even-par 72 in the afternoon session of the tournament to end his day at +3 and in a tie for 32nd. 

As a team, the Tigers and the rest of the field trail the host Wolverines of Michigan who finished the day at -14, two shots better than Texas A&M.

Pacific will tee off its final round of play in the desert at 9:15 am alongside of Marquette and Nebraska.
