Hololulu, Hawai'i - The Pacific women's tennis team rallied back to defeat Grand Canyon, 4-3, Sunday in a neutral site matchup in Hawai'i. Katie Dyson's three-set win at fourth singles clinched the match for the Tigers.

At second doubles, Cristiana Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz & Dyson won over Alexandra Petrzalkov & Kylie Waschuk, 6-4, but Grand Canyon took the doubles point with two wins. Tatum Prudhomme & Susan Baklini topped Viktoriya Dzyuba & Anneroos Nederstigt, 6-3, at first position and Lana Macukat & Lana Rinaldi bested Maayan Sela & Sabrina Rodriguez, 6-3.

In singles action, Sela opened with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Petrzalkov at the second position, while Yuki Asami won in straight sets over Marie Deleval at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-0.

After Susan Baklini posted a third-singles win over Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz, 7-5, 6-4, Dzyuba completed a three-set win over Prudhomme, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2, in first singles.

Rinaldi came away with a win at fifth singles over Rodriguez, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, tying the match at 3-3.

Dyson had called behind in the first set to Macukat at fourth singles, but rallied back for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory as the Tigers won the match 4-3.

"Today we truly won as a team," head coach Charlotte Scatliffe said. "We've been putting in a lot of work focusing on having a team-first mentality and I'm so proud of the way we came through today using this method. To have six freshman in the starting line up and come back the way we did after losing the doubles point, it shows we have something special. Katie Dyson finished with a convincing 6-2 win in third set and clinched the match in true Tiger fashion."

The Tigers improve to 5-5 on the season, while Grand Canyon falls to 6-7. Pacific will face Hawai'i on Monday at approximately 6 p.m. PT after the Antelopes face the Rainbow Wahine in the early session.
