Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team swept San Francisco, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Brookside Country Club.

Singles opened with Sabrina Rodriguez making quick work over Alisha Sharma at the sixth position, 6-2, 6-0. Viktoriya Dzyuba posted a 6-1, 7-5, victory over Andrea Ka in the first singles position and Maayan Sela clinched the match by defeated Hanna Borjeson, 6-1, 7-5, in the third spot.

Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz was locked up with Thyra Taune at second singles when her match went unfinished. Yuki Asami was leading a fifth singles match in the third set with Shanna Dos Santos, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0, when the match was called. Katie Dyson was trying to rally against Genevieve McCloskey, 5-7, 3-1.

Pacific took the doubles point as Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Dzyuba won 6-3 over Taune and Borjeson, while Dyson and Anneroos Nederstigt downed Dos Santos and Sharma, 7-5. Ka and McCloskey teams to defeat Sela and Asami, 6-1.

"Great fight from the ladies today," head coach Charlotte Scatliffe said. "That's really what it came down to. Everyone was super focused before the match. The energy and spirit was good, and we were gritty. I'm very pleased with today's performance but by no means are we where we need to be. We're hungry for more and desire to keep getting better. We will be working hard this week in preparation for Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly."

Pacific improves to 3-3 on the season, 1-1 in West Coast Conference play. USF falls to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in WCC action.

The Tigers will face Cal State Fullerton at Brookside on Friday at noon, before headed to Cal Poly for an 11 a.m. Sunday match in San Luis Obispo.
