Tigers Seek Third-Straight Home Win Tuesday

STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific hosts Wyoming in non-conference action Tuesday inside the Spanos Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PT.

The game will be video streamed on TheW.TV, the home for West Coast Conference action on both linear television and in the digital space. The contest can be heard on KWSX 1280 AM and PacificTigers.com. Zack Bayrouty and Bob Thomason have the call for both networks, starting with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.

PACIFIC IN 107TH SEASON 

The 2016-17 campaign marks the 107th in the history of Pacific. The Tigers have posted an all-time record of 1,252-1,218, including a remarkable 778-394 mark in home games. 

The Tigers have won 11 conference regular-season championships (1966, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1979, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010) and five conference tournament titles (1979, 1997, 2004, 2006, 2013).

PACIFIC SEEKING THIRD-STRAIGHT HOME WIN

Pacific is looking for its third-straight win inside the Spanos Center but has not won three-straight in Stockton since winning eight straight (last three games of 2013-14, first five of 2014-15).

STOUDAMIRE: NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Former NBA guard Damon Stoudamire was named the 22nd head coach in school history March 16 and is one of four new head coaches in the West Coast Conference (WCC) this season.

Drafted by the Toronto Raptors seventh overall in 1995, Stoudamire went on to an illustrious 13-year career with the Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs before retiring in 2008.

LUSTER FACES OLD TEAM

Former Wyoming guard JayDee Luster is a current Pacific assistant coach. Luster was a standout with the Cowboys for two seasons (2010-12) and was named the 2012 Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He finished eighth in Wyoming history with 344 assists and helped lead the Cowboys to a 21-12 overall record as a senior and quarterfinal appearance in the College Basketball Invitational.

ELERAKY, BOWLES DOMINATE PHOENIX 

Sami Eleraky and Ray Bowles each posted a double-double in the team's 18-point win over Green Bay, becoming the first Tiger duo to accomplish the feat since T.J. Wallace (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Eric Thompson (10 points, 11 rebounds) at Portland last year. Eleraky finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, just one point and two rebounds shy of tying his career-high in each category. Bowles tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds, one off his career-high. Eleraky scored eight of his 10 points in the final 20 minutes and had eight of the team's first 12 points after intermission. 

TIGERS LEAD THE WCC IN SEVERAL CATEGORIES

As of Nov. 20, Pacific leads the WCC in free throws attempted (86) and offensive rebounds per game (17.0). 

Bowles ranks second in the league in free throws attempted (25) and third in free throws made (15). David Taylor leads the WCC in 3-point field goal percentage (.643) and is third in 3-pointers made per game (3.0). Eleraky and Jack Williams are tired for third in offensive rebounds per game (3.7).

TIGER STATISTICAL RANKINGS ON THE NATIONAL STAGE

As of Nov. 20, Pacific ranks ninth nationally in offensive rebounds per game (19.0) and 34th in total rebounds per game (43.7). 

Taylor ranks 12th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.643). 

WILLIAMS MAKNG AN IMPACT 

Williams is making an impact on the floor in his first season in Stockton. He ranks third on the team in points (11.3 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounds (7.3 rpg). Williams has averaged a double-double (12.5 ppg, 10 rpg) in the last two games.

WCC PERFECT IN ESPN'S NINTH ANNUAL COLLEGE HOOPS TIP-OFF MARATHON

All three West Coast Conference teams that participated in this year's ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon won during the 24-hours of play. Pacific defeated Green Bay, while BYU downed Princeton, and Gonzaga defeated San Diego State.

WALLACE APPROACHING 1,000 CAREER POINTS

Wallace has scored 937 points during his four-year career with Pacific and is 63 shy of becoming the 27th member of the 1,000-point club in program history. He would become the first player to surpass the plateau since Sam Willard in 2011.

PACIFIC FACES TWO MWC TEAMS BACK-TO-BACK

Pacific faces three Mountain West Conference teams this season, including the next two contests, hosting Wyoming Tuesday before travelling to Nevada Nov. 29. The Tigers host Fresno State Dec. 17.

The Tigers have won two of their last four games against MWC opponents and four of the last five in the Spanos Center.

TIGERS FACE THREE TEAMS RANKED IN THE TOP 25 

The Tigers face three teams a total of five times this season currently ranked in the USA Today Coaches and Associated Press Top 25 Polls. The Tigers opened their campaign Nov. 11 at then-No. 20/16 UCLA. The Tigers host WCC foes No. 13/11 Gonzaga on Dec. 31 and No. 19/15 Saint Mary's on Feb. 2 with road trips scheduled to the Gaels Jan. 19 and Bulldogs Feb. 18. On Nov. 29, Pacific travels to Nevada, which is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. 

TIGERS FACE THREE OPPONENTS THAT MADE 2016 BIG DANCE

The Tigers face three teams a total of four times this season that made the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. Pacific faces two opponents (Green Bay, Fresno State) that were No. 14 seeds in the Big Dance. Stoudamire's team defeated Green Bay 76-58 and faces Fresno State Dec. 17. The Tigers host Gonzaga, an 11-seed in the NCAA Championship, on Dec. 31 and travel to the Bulldogs Feb. 18.

INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE 

Stoudamire's group is represented by six countries on this year's roster - the United States, Canada (Keshon Montague), Croatia (Tonko Vuko), Denmark (Eleraky), Germany (Taylor) and Greece (Ilias Theodorou).

ELERAKY STANDS TALL

Eleraky is one of eight seven footers in the WCC this season.

TIGERS WITH EIGHTH LONGEST 3-POINT STREAK IN NATION

Pacific has made at least one 3-pointer in 888 consecutive games dating back to a Feb. 14, 1987 contest against New Mexico State. The streak is the eighth longest active in the nation. The last time the Tigers went without a trey in a game was against Long Beach State on Feb. 12, 1987.

Pacific made seven 3-pointers in its game at UC Irvine.

Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton are the only schools in college basketball to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the 3-point line was implemented by the NCAA in 1986-87 .

DOMINANCE INSIDE SPANOS

Pacific has won 58 of the last 93 games on campus.

The Tigers are 131-56 in the Spanos Center over the last 10 years.

In 474 all-time games played in the Spanos Center, Pacific is 313-161 since the building opened prior to the 1981-82 season.

NON-CONFERENCE SPANOS FEVER

Pacific has won 108 of its last 136 non-conference matchups in the Spanos Center since 1989.

"THE JET" JR.

Stoudamire is not the only new Tiger with NBA ties. Pacific freshman guard K.J. Smith is the son of former NBA guard and current Inside the NBA on TNT analyst Kenny "The Jet" Smith. The elder Smith also serves as an analyst for CBS/Turner during the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.

Smith played nine minutes in Pacific's season-opener at UCLA.

SMALL, REYNOLDS AND POWELL TO REDSHIRT

Kendall Small, Miles Reynolds and TySean Powell will redshirt the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Small played last season at Oregon, while Reynolds and Powell transfered from Saint Louis and Duquesne, respectively.
