Two-Meet Weekend Upcoming For Tigers Swim

Stockton, Calif. - Another two-meet weekend is upcoming for the Pacific Tigers swim team, who will host a dual meet against UCSB this Friday at 2:00 pm.  After that, the women's team will travel to L.A. to swim against Loyola Marymount in a meet that will begin at 1:00 pm.  The men's team will have just one more meet after this weekend, with this weekend serving as their home finale.

The Tigers had no meets last weekend after swimming in two the weekend before.  The last meet for the men's and women's teams was on January 9, when Pacific took on Cal Poly at home.  The Tigers fell to Cal Poly in overall points in that meet, with the women losing 169-93 and the men 156-103.  The day before that meet, the Pacific men took on No. 12 Stanford, losing 134-63.

In the Cal Poly meet, the Tigers continued their strong relay showings on the season.  The women's team won the 200 Medley Relay while the men's team put up the best time by more than two seconds but was disqualified due to an early start.  The men also won the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:05.70 while the women took second in their relay with a 3:37.59 time.

Kenna Ramey won the 50 Free and the 100 Fly for the women, events in which Miles MacKenzie took second and Jared Vu won for the men, respectively.  On the season, Ramey has the fastest 50 Free time of any Pacific woman with a 23.41 as well as the fastest 100 Fly at 54.50.

Georan Meendering joined MacKenzie with an impressive showing on the day at Cal Poly.  Meendering won the 200 Free with a 1:42.55 and took third in the 200 Back with a 1:58.54.  MacKenzie added a 100 Free second place to his 50 Free finish as well.

For the Gauchos of UCSB, the meet with Pacific will be their men's last road meet of the year before the MPSF Championships in February.  The men's and women's teams of UCSB last swam against UNLV on January 9, coming away with a 168-93 win for the women and a 153-109 win for the men.  The Gauchos won 24 of 32 events during that meet.

Loyola Marymount is wrapping up their regular season against Pacific before they head to the postseason.  They last took to the pool to swim in the Beach Cup, coming away with a third place finish in the four-team event.  LMU has already faced off against Pacific this year when both teams participated in the A3 Performance Invitational.  In that meet, Pacific took third while LMU finished 10th, with Pacific outscoring LMU 724.5-313.
