Box Score

Sacramento, Calif. - The Pacific men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on Friday afternoon in Sacramento. The Tigers out-shot Sacramento 13-11, but Brad Bumgarner finished in the 69th minute for the lone goal of the match.

Pacific's Spencer Vue fired the only shot on goal of the first half, as Hornets keeper Philip Bru corralled his strike in the 26th minute. Vue, a Sacramento Native finished the game with two shots.

Vue joined Andres Ochoa, Tyson Fox and Julio Cervantes with two shots in the first half for the Tigers, who outshot the Hornets 8-3 in the opening 45 minutes of action. Reigning WCC Player of the Week goalkeeper Josh Adachi was not tested in the first half as Pacific's back line dealt with all challenges from the hosts.

In the second half, the Tigers had a pair of shots blocked in a flurry in front in the 65th minute. In the 69th minute, Bumgarner snuck a low shot past the diving Adachi as the Hornets finally broke through. Tristan Blackmon's header was saved in the 75th minute by Bru, the Tigers' best chance to draw level.

Adachi and Bru each finished with a pair of saves. The Tigers held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks, but couldn't complete a set piece.

Head Coach Ryan Jorden said following the match, "I think tonight was a very good performance for us as a team on the road. Unfortunately, we weren't able to break through and get the goal that we needed to validate the percentage of possession we had and the way we dictated the tempo in the match. "

The Tigers fall to 1-5-0 on the season, while Sacramento improves to 2-4-1 on the year. Pacific will return to action against UC Davis on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm in Davis, Calif. Live stats are available for the contest at PacificTigers.com
