Tigers Sign Tonko Vuko For 2015-16

Stockton, Calif. - University of the Pacific Men's Basketball Head Coach Ron Verlin has announced the signing of Tonko Vuko to a national letter of intent for the 2015-16 season. Transferring in after his sophomore season, he will be ready to play immediately for the Tigers in 2015-16 and has two years of eligibility remaining.

A 6-8 forward from Split, Croatia, Vuko played two years at Weatherford College in Weatherford, Texas. He was an All-Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference First Team selection in 2014-15 and was the league's Freshman of the Year in 2013-14, also earning first team all-league honors. He averaged 16.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a freshman. He led the team to a 19-13 record in 2014-15 with 15.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. Tonko scored 925 points and pulled down 416 over his two seasons. Scoring consistently throughout his career, Tonko had 48 double-digit scoring games over his two seasons, including three games with 30 or more points.

"Tonko will be a great addition to the Pacific family," said Verlin. He has the ability to stretch the defensive with his three-point shooting ability, while also being able to score inside. He will be a welcome addition to an already formidable front court."
