San Diego Game Notes

Pacific hosts San Diego in the final game of 2015 as the Toreros come to Stockton to kick off a home weekend of action for the Tigers. The series between the two teams is one of the youngest for the Tigers in program history having played just 14 times with Pacific holding an 8-6 edge on the Toreros. The two sides have split the season series in the first two years of Pacific in the WCC with each team holding serve on their home court. The Tigers took a 59-57 win over the Toreros in Stockton last season on Jan. 17, while San Diego won the last meeting, 68-48, on Feb. 12 in San Diego. Interim Head Coach Mike Burns spent the last seven seasons on the bench of the Toreros before coming to Pacific in June.

The Dons used nine second half threes to score 53 points after the break to turn a nine-point Tiger lead at the break into a 13-point victory at the finish. Devin Watson paced four Dons in double-figures with 23 points including hitting 5-of-5 from deep while Ronnie Boyce scored 20 including four from three. Tim Derksen would finish with 16 points and 14 rebounds while Uche Ofoegbu ended with 14 points and seven rebounds. Scoring 11 points in the second half, D.J. Ursery finished his night with a career-best 16 points to go with three rebounds and three assists. Ray Bowles ended with 13 points while T.J. Wallace and Alec Kobre each tallied 11. Wallace would play just 13 minutes before fouling out of the game for the first time in the season. After knocking down eight threes in the first half, the Tigers would make just one of six in the second half to finish 9-of-21 in the game.
