Creswell, Ore. - Ending their stay in the Pacific Northwest, the Tiger Golf team took home an 11th place finish on Tuesday, Mar. 25 behind the third place finish from junior Byron Meth. On a tough day on the Emerald Valley Golf Club, the Tigers posted a +17, 305 for the third round of play as they finished at +42 alongside of Wyoming and San Jose State. The tournament was won by Oregon State at +9 as no team finished under par at the two day event.
Individually, Meth took home his top finish of the 2013-14 season as the third-year Tiger finished in a tie for third overall after posting a even-par, 216 at the invitational. On day two, Meth shot a +3, 75, as two holes tripped up the junior and kept him from his first tournament title. Overall, Meth finished three shots off the lead as Minnesota's Jose Mendez and Colorado's Jeremy Paul to the title at -3 over the three rounds.
Outside of Meth, sophomore Matt Lee ended his play at the invitational in a tie for 30th after shooting a +4, 76 on day two to finish at +9 for the tournament.
The Tigers are back on the course on April 5-6 at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas for their final tune up before their first-ever West Coast Conference Championship tournament.
