Kristina Johnson opened the scoring with a jumper in the paint. Hailie Eackles added a floater and Kenyon a put-back as the Tigers led 6-4 early. Eackles and Luaulu-Summers each posted jumpers as the Tigers held Long Beach State to two buckets on the 49ers first 10 shots.

Devin Hudson brought LBSU within a pair at 14-12 and the 49ers took the lead 16-15 from the free throw line as the Tigers suffered a six-minute scoring drought.

Coleman put Pacific back in front with both ends of a one-and-one, and after a basket by the Beach, Johnson hit two free throws for a 19-18 Pacific lead. Coleman added a right-handed lay-in as the Tigers led 21-18 at halftime.

Pacific shot 25 percent (7-for-28) in the first frame, but held Long Beach to 23 percent (6-of-26) and forced 10 turnovers by the 49ers leading to eight points.

Erin Butler drained a three to open the scoring in the second half.

Raven Benton's scoop shot brought Long Beach back to even at 25-25, but Coleman put the Tigers back up in front with a pair from the free throw line.

Luaulu-Summers tallied back-to-back buckets, and Coleman finished inside for a 33-30 Pacific lead with 13:01 to play. But Lauren Spargo answered with a three for LBSU.

Long Beach State reeled off a 10-0 run to take a 40-33 lead with 9:02 to go before Kenyon answered with an and-one.

Alex Sanchez scored five-straight points for the 49ers. Eackles and Kenyon brought the Tigers within five, at 45-40 with 4:32 to go.

But Long Beach answered with back-to-back buckets and Pacific would get no closer.

Kenyon, third on Pacific's all-time rebound list, reached 900 for her career and now has 904, 54 shy of the school record.

The Tigers will break for the holidays and open West Coast Conference play on Saturday, Dec. 27 at San Francisco at 2 p.m. The game opens a stretch of four games in eight days as the Tigers play at Santa Clara on Monday, Dec. 29, and at home against Loyola Marymount (Thur., Jan. 1) and Pepperdine (Sat., Jan. 3)
