Gibbons Signs One During The Early Signing Period

Box Score

Stockton, Calif. - With the early signing period opening, Pacific's head volleyball coach Greg Gibbons has announced the addition of Lauren Cline (Bakersfield, Calif.) for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Cline is a 6-2 middle out of Stockdale High School in Bakersfield.

"Lauren will be our lone incoming freshman for this class on a team that returns 14 players," said Gibbons. "Her size, speed, and physicality will be a strong asset along the net for us. She fits into our system with the tempo she can attack at and brings the physicality needed to compete as a middle blocker in our conference."

A four-year letter winner for the Mustangs, Cline took over a starting spot as a sophomore and never looked back. Steadily increasing her output throughout her career, Cline has averaged 4.6 kills on .413 hitting as a senior as she lead her team to its first-ever Southwest Yosemite League title and a playoff berth. Cline and her Mustangs have a date with the three-time defending Central Section Division I champs, Clovis West, in the quarterfinals on Thursday night. As junior, Cline was named to the All-Area team after she led the Mustangs to the Section Semifinals. She finished the season second in the county with 170 blocks and averaged 3.4 kills per set and 53 aces. Outside of Stockdale's gym, Cline is a member of Club Jamba, coached by Tom Clarke, one of the top club programs in California.
