The Pacific men's basketball team begins a stretch of four straight road games with games at Brigham Young and San Diego this week. On Thursday, Jan. 30, the Tigers travel to Provo, Utah to take on BYU at 6:00 p.m. (PST) and on Saturday, Feb. 1 the Tigers visit San Diego at 1:00 p.m. Thursday's game is televised nationally by BYU TV, while Saturday's game at San Diego is the West Coast Conference Game of the Week. The San Diego tilt will be carried by Comcast SportsNet California, Time Warner Sports, Root Sports and TheW.tv.
Pacific is 11-8 overall and 2-6 in the West Coast Conference, after splitting home games with Loyola Marymount (L, 92-81) and Pepperdine (W, 76-66) last weekend. Senior Sama Taku leads the team with 12.4 points per game, while senior Tony Gill is averaging a team-best 5.8 rebounds per game. The Tigers are fifth nationally in free throw percentage at .773.
BYU is 13-9 on the season and 5-4 in the WCC, after a pair of road losses last week at Gonzaga and Portland. Tyler Haws leads the Cougars with 23.6 points per game, while Kyle Collinsworth has a team best 8.3 rebounds per game.
San Diego is 12-10 on the season and 3-6 in the WCC, after splitting a pair of home games last week with a loss at Gonzaga and a victory at Portland. Johnny Dee leads the Toreros with 17.1 points per game.
