The Pacific women's soccer team hosts No. 10 Portland on Saturday, Oct. 5 in its only match of the weekend. It marks the first match for the Tigers in the West Coast Conference. It is Pacific Plays Pink, with free pink drawstring bags being hand out at the game while supplies last.
Pacific (1-7-2) dropped last week's match 1-0 to UC Davis, after the Aggies were given a penalty shot after a hand ball was called on the Tigers. Senior Maricela Padilla Padilla has moved into 10th place on Pacific's career goals scored list with 17. She is second in career shots (172), moving past her sister Carmen (159), currently an assistant coach for the Tigers.
Portland is at the top of the West Coast Conference standings (8-1-1) and is ranked No. 10 in the latest NSCAA top 25 poll. Micaela Capelle leads the Pilots with seven goals on the season.
