Raleigh, N.C. - With 36-holes complete at the Rod Myers Invitational complete on Saturday, October 13, the Pacific golf team sits in 10th place after shooting a two-round total of +19, 595. Leading the field was the host Blue Devils of Duke who shot a -2, 574. Duke finished as the lone team under-par through two rounds and hold a two shot lead heading into the final day.
Individually, the Tigers were led by their senior, Alex Edfort, who shot an even-par, 144, over the first two rounds of play as he fired off a pair of 72's. For Edfort, the day was up-and-down on the course as the Somerset, N.J. native fought back from four bogeys in his first-nine holes of the second round to still shoot even par. Edfort carded an eagle on the final hole of the day to bring his score back to even, a score that placed the senior into a tie for 10th overall in the tournament. Edfort will have a chance to make a run at the tournament title in the final day as he finds himself just five strokes back of the leaders, a trio of players from Charlotte, North Carolina and Duke, who each went five-under for the day.
Pacific heads back to the course on Sunday, October 14, at 7:50 am when they play the final 18 holes of the invitational from Duke University Golf Course.
