Fairfax, Calif. - Beginning the day in 10th place at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, the Pacific golf team was unable to make up ground on the field as the Tigers ended the final day of play in the same spot on Tuesday, October 18.  Pacific closed out the tournament with a +3, 287, to finish the tournament at -2 after taking on the par-71, 6,718-yard Meadow Club.  Tied at the top of the leaderboard at -41 after 54 holes, No. 2 Oregon and defending champion Cal shared the team title at the 2011 invitational.

Individually, the Tigers saw their junior Alex Edfort lead the way in the tournament as the Somerset, N.J. native shot a +1, 72 over the final 18 holes to complete his tournament at -5.  The junior finished the tournament tied for 20th in the individual standings to pick up his first top-20 finish of the season.  For the day, freshman Eric Sugimoto fired off the low round of the morning as he paced the team with an even-par, 71.  Sugimoto would finish tied for 37th in the standings and second on the team after ending his two days at at even par after shooting 213 in 54 holes.  Oregon's Eugene Wong took home the tournament's individual title after posting a -18 through the three rounds of action, winning by five strokes over his next closest competitor.

Next up, the Tigers will host their own Stockton Convention & Visitors Bureau Pacific Invitational sponsored by Ron Berbarian from Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 at Brookside Country Club.  Pacific will look to defend its 2010 title against some of the nation's best as they take on 11 other teams in a field which includes all five of the tournament's past winners.
