The first day of the UNLV tournament proved to be a great success for the Tigers. They played confidently and were able to dominate the courts. Today also signified Shabby Eslami's debut in her first match with the Pacific Tigers. Another interesting aspect of today's match includes Weber State product, Naseem Eslami, who also happens to be the new addition to the Pacific family, Shabby Eslami's sister.
Coach Chiene stated, "It is just good to get a match under our belts and get a win to start the season. Tomorrow will be a good test and then we play the #29 team in the country on Sunday."
The Pacific team consists of 3 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 1 junior, and 3 seniors, whereas Weber State's team consisted of 4 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 1 junior and 0 seniors.
