Tigers Close Out The Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational In Ninth Place

Sept. 21, 2010

Auburn, Wash. - In the final round of the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Washington, the Pacific golf team posted a +9, 297 to finish the tournament in ninth place overall. For the three rounds, the Tigers shot +20 as a team, tying with UC Davis and Washington State near the middle of the 14 team field. With a -17, 847, the Pepperdine Waves took home the team championship.

Entering the day in sixth place, a tough opening to their final 18 holes put the Tigers in catch-up mode for the back nine of the third round. Playing again in tough conditions at the Washington National Golf Club, the Tigers found themselves battling inconsistency throughout the round. Senior T.J. Bordeaux (Tacoma, Wash.), playing in his home state, proved to be the most adept at handling the course as he continued his strong play at the tournament after a rough opening round. In the final round of action, Bordeaux fired the Tigers' top round of the day as he shot an even-par, 72, matching his score from the previous round. For the day, Bordeaux evened out a pair of bogeys by taking advantage of the short par fours of holes seven and 13 to notch birdies that kept his round at 72. For the tournament, Bordeaux shot a +5, 221, to finish in a tie for 28th place in the individual standings.

Sophomore Alex Edfort (Somerset, N.J.) put together the Tigers' best showing at the tournament for the three rounds as he ended his two day event tied for 21st in the individual standings. The sophomore finished the tournament at +3, 219, after turning in a +2, 74, scorecard in round three, matching his total from the second round of action. Overall, Pepperdine's Josh Anderson took home the individual title after finishing the tournament at -10, 206.

The Tigers will get back on the course on October 2 in Los Cabos, Mexico when they take part in the Cabo Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas and Santa Clara University at the Querencia Golf Course.
