Tiger Men's And Women's Basketball Team Home On Wednesday Night For Doubleheader

Nov. 30, 2010

Stockton, Calif. -

The Pacific men's and women's basketball teams will host a doubleheader on Wednesday, Dec. 1 in the Spanos Center. The women's team will host Fresno State at 5:00 p.m. while the men's team hosts Pepperdine at 7:30 p.m.

After a three-game road swing, the Pacific women's basketball team returns to the Spanos Center Wednesday to face Fresno State at 5 p.m. Pacific started 2-1 at home, but are coming off a three-game road trip with losses at Southern Utah, at UNLV and versus Rutgers in Las Vegas. The Tigers (2-4) are averaging 75.0 points per game through three games at the Spanos Center, and 53.7 points per game away from home. Pacific's field goal percentage is 9.2 percent higher at home (.435 to .343) than on the road.

A 4-2 start has the Tiger men's team atop the Big West Conference standings, led by senior Sam Willard (Pierre, S.D.). With double-doubles in five of the Tigers' six games this season, Willard is tied for first in the nation in double-doubles. The Tigers and Pepperdine will be in the same venue for the fifth straight game, as each team played at the same site in the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tipoff. The two teams each split four games in the tournament, with both picking up victories over Nevada and Arkansas State, and losing at UCLA and Missouri State.

Tickets for the doubleheader are available at the Pacific Box Office by calling 209-946-2867 or can be purchased at the Pacific Box Office online.
