Seattle University Defeats Pacific, 127-79.

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's swim team took to the pool Friday evening to take on Seattle University. The Tigers suffered their second loss of the season as Seattle defeated Pacific 127-79.

For the men in the in the 1000 Free junior Aljaz Ojstersek (Ljubljana, Slovenia), freshmen Zach Zlotoff (San Jose, Calif.) and Scott Tyler (Palo Cedro, Calif.) claimed the top three spots touching the wall in 9:49.39, 10:05.21 and 10:15.09 respectively. Ojstersek had Pacific's best finish of the evening in the 500 Free, finishing first with a time of 4:45.06.

Freshmen Chris Weber (Valencia, Calif.) claimed the top spot for the Tigers in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:00.21. Weber was also Pacific's top swimmer in the 100 Butterfly (54.81) with the third place finish. Freshmen RJ Barton (Modesto, Calif.) finished the 100 Butterfly (54.84) behind Weber with junior David Hernandez (Chico, Calif.) and senior Garrett Murphy (Pleasanton, Calif.) rounding out the top seven for the Tigers.

In the 100 Free, freshmen Kevin Schirmer (Danville, Calif.) and Kyle Accornero (Livermore, Calif.) had back-to-back finishes for the third (48.72) and fourth (48.91) finish. Senior Jack Pope (Lahaina, Hawaii) and freshman Erik Kauppinen (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) completed the 100 Free with times of 50.29 and 51.93 respectively.

Sophomore Kevin Byers (Puyallup, Wash.) led the Tigers in the 100 Back, touching the wall in 53.55. Junior Danny Platow (Westport, Conn.) and freshman Jonathan Kim (Bakersfield, Calif.) touched the wall back-to-back to round out the top five in the event.

With the loss the Tigers drop to 0-2 on the season. Pacific continues action Saturday, Oct. 31, at 12 p.m. against Cal State Bakersfield.
