Tigers Fall to No. 2 Seed UC Irvine, 5-0, at Big West Championships

Indian Wells, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team suffered a 5-0 defeat to the second seeded UC Irvine Anteaters in the quarterfinal round of the Big West Championships on Friday, Apr. 25.

The loss ends Pacific's season with a 6-14 record on the year, while the Anteaters advance to the semifinals with a 15-8 record.

After dropping the doubles point to fall behind 1-0, four Tigers suffered straight set defeats to clinch the match for UC Irvine. The best showing of the day for Pacific came from sophomore Svenja Arens (Bensberg, Germany) as she pushed Inna Agababian in the opening set before falling, 7-5, 6-2.
