Pacific Cruises Past Portland, 5-2

Portland, Ore. The Pacific women's tennis team defeated the Portland Pilots, 5-2, on Saturday, Feb. 9. The victory lifted the Tigers to 2-3 on the season, while the Pilots fell to 2-5 overall.

After claiming the doubles point, Pacific's top three singles players each defeated their opponents on the three available courts to secure the team victory.

Sophomore Svenja Arens (Bensberg, Germany) delivered the most impressive performance of the match, defeating Anna Gullickson, 6-0, 6-0.

With the outcome determined, the final two matches were played only to eight games.

Pacific hits the courts again, tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 9 as the Tigers face Oregon at 11 a.m. in Eugene, Ore.
