Annapolis, MD- The Pacific men's water polo team finished day two of the Navy Invitational with wins over John Hopkins and George Washington on Sept. 2 in Annapolis, MD. With the wins, the team moved back to .500 and to 2-2 on the season. The Tigers first defeated John Hopkins by a score of 11-10 and then came back to beat George Washington in the second game by a score of 17-15.
In the Tigers' win over John Hopkins College, the team was led in goals by senior Duje Kaurloto (Split, Croatia) with three, while senior Dragan Bakic (Split, Croatia) and juniors Shane Mahoney (Lodi, Calif.), Will Milcovich (Walnut Creek, Calif.), and Brett Hirsch (Brea, Calif.) each scored two goals a piece.
In Pacific's final game of the tournament the Tigers were led by senior Andy Skora who had five goals in the 17-15 win over George Washington. Seniors Bakic and Kenny Yamamoto (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) each scored four goals a piece in the contest. Other scorers were freshman Neil Bykerk (Palos Verdes, Calif.) who had two goals and Mahoney and freshman Jonathan Pare (Westlake, Calif.) who each scored once.
Pacific will be back in action on Sept. 8 when they will take on Cal in Stockton, Calif. at 12:00 p.m. The game will be played at St. Mary's High School.
