Stockton, Calif. - Forced to move their match indoors due to rain, the Pacific women's tennis team prevailed over UC Riverside, 6-1, on Saturday, April 14. With the win the Tigers improved to 7-12 overall in dual matches and 2-5 in conference action.
Playing for the final time at home, senior Vana Mrazovic (Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro) and junior Helen Schneider (Dernbach, Germany), who is graduating early, each won their win singles matches in convincing fashion to lead the Tigers to the win. Mrazovic took the No. 1 singles spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Erynne Oki while Schneider captured the No. 4 position, 6-1, 6-1 over Yasaman Sakhakorn.
The Tigers set themselves up for success early by winning the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Mrazovic teamed with Svenja Arens at No. 2 to win 8-2 while Carla Tamborini partnered with Sasha Fisher to win 8-2 at the No. 3 spot.
Pacific will be back in action on Wednesday, April 18, as they travel to Davis, Calif. to take on the Aggies of UC Davis. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
