Tigers Battle Back For Final Round 294 at Duck Invitational

Eugene, Oregon - The Pacific golf team battled back in the final round of the Oregon Duck Invitational to shoot the fourth best team round of the day. The Tigers rebounded with a combined 294 at Eugene Country Club Tuesday, March 27.

Senior Thomas Petersson once again led Pacific as he shot a final round 74 to finish at 225; 31st place. Sophomore Charlie Van Sicklen carded his first round under par of the spring season as he fired a one-under 71 at the 7,033-yard course. Junior A.J. Hohn and freshman Patrick Kucich both finished at 235, tying for 59th place while junior Chris Rosenau finished at 238.

"I'm extremely proud of the guys and the way we played out there today," said head coach Brandon Goethals. "We shot the fourth best final round in the tournament and everybody brought a good contribution to the cause. We just need to get to the point where we're doing that on a consistent basis and doing it every round."

USC freshman Jamie Lovemark took home medalist honors, helping the sixth ranked Trojans hold off Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona. USC had a three-round total of 868, six strokes better than Oregon State (874) and seven better than Oregon.

Top-ranked Stanford was fifth at 880, while No. 9 UCLA and Washington tied for sixth at 887. No. 21 Arizona State took eighth at 889, followed by San Diego State (893), California (902) and Washington State (907).
