Boise, Idaho - With injuries forcing the Pacific's women's tennis team to play short, former Big West foe Idaho took advantage for a 5-2 win over the Tigers on Saturday, March 10. With the loss the Tigers fell to 4-5 on the season.
Unable to capture both the top two doubles matches and playing a team down, the Tigers relinquished the doubles point to the Vandals, falling behind early in the match 1-0. Senior Vana Mrazovic (Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro) and freshman Svenja Arens (Bensburg, Germany) were able to pick up a win at the top doubles spot as the duo defeated Patricia Ruman and Mariel Tinnirello, 9-7.
In singles action, Mrazovic continued her strong play as she breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 in over Ruman at the No. 1 spot. Pacific also picked up a win at the No. 4 position as sophomore Carla Tamborini (Arcadia, Calif.) took down Lauren Drew, 6-4, 6-1. The Tigers found themselves down an early point in singles as well as injuries forced Pacific to default the No. 6 position to the Vandals.
Pacific will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, March 11, as they take on Boise State at 11:00 am.
