Pacific to Face Grizzlies in ESPNU BracketBusters on Saturday

Pacific will travel to Montana to take on the Grizzlies in an ESPNU BracketBusters matchup on Feb. 17 at 2:00 p.m. ... The Tigers will then host UC Davis on Feb. 19.

LAST WEEK: The Tigers lost 82-77 to Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 8 and defeated UC Riverside 86-66 on Feb. 10.

RADIO: All Tiger basketball games are broadcast live on KSTN (1420 AM) in Stockton, ESPN Radio 970 AM in Modesto ... Mike Millerick calls the play-by-play, with former Tiger head coach Dick Fichtner providing color commentary ... Air time is 20 minutes before tip-off ... Pacific 86, UC Riverside 66: TThe Pacific men's basketball team improved to 9-14 overall and 5-5 in Big West Conference action with an 86-66 conference victory over UC Riverside (5-19, 1-9 Big West) on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Alex G. Spanos Center ... The Tigers fell behind early 4-0 as they turned the ball over on each of their first three possessions ... Pacific used a 12-2 run to take a 17-11 lead with 12:48 left in the first half ... Senior Michael White (Capitola, Calif.) scored six of his nine points during the run ... The Tigers were able to extend their lead to as big as 14 in the first half, but the Highlanders outscored the Tigers 4-0 over the final minute to cut the lead to 38-28 at the break ... Pacific out-rebounded the Highlanders 22-10, including five offensive boards that gave the Tigers a 12-2 advantage in second chance points ... Cal State Fullerton 82, Pacific 77: The Pacific men's basketball team fell to 8-14 overall and 4-5 in Big West Conference action with an 82-77 conference loss to Cal State Fullerton (17-5, 7-3 Big West) on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Alex G. Spanos Center ... Senior Michael White (Capitola, Calif.) led Pacific with a career-high tying 20 points and nine rebounds. Senior Reggie Vezia (Vacaville, Calif.) notched career highs with 18 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers ... Sophomore Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) had 15 points despite 7-of-16 free throw shooting and junior Solomon Horsechief (Muskogee, Okla.) scored 12 points with seven assists ... The Tigers' took a 3-0 lead on a three-pointer by HorseChief on the opening possession, but the Titans scored the next eight points and would lead until Pacific fought back to take a 25-23 lead on a three-pointer by senior Anthony Esparza (Bakersfield, Calif.) ... PEMBERTON SELECTED TO ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM: Senior forward Ben Pemberton (Hawkins, Texas) has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Eight Second Team, it was announced on Feb. 8 ... Ben is a Computer Engineering major in his second year at Pacific and holds a 3.76 cumulative grade point average ... He has scored 36 points and grabbed 28 rebounds for the Tigers this season ... Ben made his first career start for the Tigers on Nov. 25 against Hawaii, grabbing a career high tying four rebounds ... He scored a season-high six points against UMKC on Nov. 22.

MARAKER AND THOMASON EARN TOP 2005-06 BIG WEST CONFERENCE AWARDS: Pacific senior forward Christian Maraker (Varberg, Sweden) was named Big West Conference Player of the Year, while Tiger head coach Bob Thomason was named Big West Conference Coach of the Year when the conference's yearly awards were announced ... It is the third consecutive year that Pacific has swept the top two awards ... Maraker, along with senior Johnny Gray (Agoura Hills, Calif.) were named to the All-Big West Conference First Team ... PACIFIC EARNS THIRD STRAIGHT CONFERENCE TITLE IN 2005-06: With Pacific's 75-53 win over Cal Poly on Mar. 4, 2006 the Tigers clinched the 2005-06 Big West Conference regular season title ...
