IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - Anthony Esparza scored eight of his 23 points during a decisive second-half run to propel Pacific to an 89-82 victory Thursday over UC Irvine.
All five Pacific (8-12, 4-3 Big West) starters scored in double figures. Michael White added 15 points for the Tigers, who led 32-26 at halftime.
Chuma Awaji, a reserve, scored 19 points for Irvine (10-13, 4-5). Although the Anteaters missed their first seven shots, the team finished 30 of 53 from the field, or 57 percent.
Patrick Sanders added 16 points for Irvine. The Tigers out-rebounded Irvine 35-21.
