Stockton, Calif. - Playing their second conference road game of the Big West season, the Pacific soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, October 14. With the loss the Tigers fell to 6-5-3 overall and 1-2-1 in conference action while the Titans improved to 7-6-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the Big West.

A scoreless game at the half quickly swung in favor of the Titans as Cal State Fullerton netted three goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half to take the conference victory on the day.

Brianna Buffington netted two goals for the Titans, scoring the first goal of the game in the 55th minute of action on a deflected save by senior Jaime Souza (Gig Harbor, Wash.). She would score again 15 minutes later to cap the scoring for Cal State Fullerton as she was the beneficiary of a fortunate deflection off of a Pacific defender after a Titan corner.

In between Buffington's two strikes, Christina Murillo tallied a goal of her own on a strike from 20 yards out on her own individual effort.

Pacific was credited with nine shots on the day with the best scoring chance comin with just under 16 minutes to go in the first half when freshman Sammi Teramae (Kapolei, Hawaii) ran onto a long ball from senior Mandi Van Dorn (Danville, Calif.) only to see her shot bounce off the right post.

Defensively, Souza produced six saves on the day. The shutout was the first time in conference play that the Tigers have gone scoreless.

Pacific will be back in action at home on Friday, October 19 as they host UC Irvine in Big West play. The game is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
