Pacific in Seventh After Day One of Husky Invitational

Oct. 1, 2007

Bremerton, Washington - Freshman T.J. Bordeaux, back in his home state of Washington, shot back-to-back rounds of 73 to put the Tigers in seventh place after the first two rounds of the UW Husky Invitational. Pacific posted a 299-300 team score at the 7,061-yard Gold Mountain Golf Club.

The Tigers, playing the long and rain-soaked Olympic Course, bounced around the leaderboard for much of the morning. Just seven strokes out of second place, Pacific battled to remain in the hunt going into tomorrow's final round.

"We're in a good position to be where we are right now," said head coach Brandon Goethals. "This is a good field on a challenging course and for the most part our guys played into that. Our goal is always to be competitive and in a position to make a move on the leaderboard and that's where we are right now."

T.J.'s two-over par day put him in a tie for eighth place going into tomorrow's final round while seniors Chris Rosenau and A.J. Hohn are a stroke apart at 151 and 152, respectively. Junior Charlie Van Sicklen chipped in with a 75 this afternoon and freshman Alex Grieb contributed the same in the second round.

The Tigers finish tomorrow morning with tee-times beginning at 8:00 a.m. PST.
