Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers women's tennis team upset No. 53 Sacramento State, 4-3, on Friday, Feb. 24.
With the win the Tigers moved to 6-3 on the season, while the Hornets fell to 2-3 overall.
Freshman Clara Schuhmacher (Zaragoza, Spain) claimed the decisive point for the Tigers as she defeated Sacramento State's Anastassia Lyssenko, 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot. Schuhmacher also teammed with sophomore Helen Schneider (Dernbach, Germany) to claim the No. 3 doubles spot over Cecilia Helland and Svetlana Pimenova, 8-6. The doubles victory earned the Tigers the doubles point.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 25 as the Tigers travel to Santa Clara, Calif. to take on the Santa Clara Broncos at 1 p.m.
