STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's basketball team fell to 3-6 on the season with a 67-49 non-conference loss to Santa Clara (6-3) on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Santa Clara held the Tigers to just 1-of-10 shooting to start the game, taking an early eight point lead (15-7). Pacific would rally late in the first half to cut the lead to one (24-23) after a 9-3 run. The Broncos responded to take a 28-23 halftime lead.
The Tigers scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 30-28 lead, but that would be the final lead of the game for Pacific. Santa Clara outscored the Tigers 27-7 to take an 18 point lead (55-37) with 8:12 remaining and would coast to the victory.
Senior Michael White (Capitola, Calif.) and freshman C. J. Morgan (Elk Grove, Calif.) each scored 10 points to lead the Tigers. White pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
Pacific shot a season low 32.6% in the loss and was out-rebounded 39-24.
Danny Pariseau scored a career-high 20 points to pace the Broncos.
The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 12 as Pacific hosts Saint Louis at 7 p.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
