Pacific to Open Big West Schedule Tonight at Home Against Cal State Northridge

Pacific opens up the Big Wet Conference season with a Dec. 30 home game against Cal State Northridge.

LAST WEEK: After finals week, Pacific dropped an 83-47 decision at No. 4 Wisconsin on Dec. 23.

RADIO: All Tiger basketball games are broadcast live on KSTN (1420 AM) in Stockton, ESPN Radio 970 AM in Modesto ... Mike Millerick calls the play-by-play, with former Tiger head coach Dick Fichtner providing color commentary ... Air time is 20 minutes before tip-off ... THE COACH: Former Pacific basketball standout Bob Thomason (Pacific '71) is 313-230 (.576) in his 19th season as head coach of his alma mater ... He has more Big West experience at his current school than any other coach in the Big West Conference ... After leading the Tigers to a 27-4 record in 2004-05, Thomason was named as a finalist for the CollegeInsider.com Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award and received USBWA District 9 Coach of the Year honors ... Thomason is the second coach in Big West history to record 300 wins during Big West membership ... Jerry Tarkanian is first with 405 wins ... Bob surpassed his former coach Dick Edwards for the most career wins at Pacific, and has coached more games than any coach in school history ... He was an allconference guard under coach Edwards from 1967-71, and has five times earned Big West Conference Coach of the Year honors (in 1992-93, 1996-97, 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06) ...
