Saint Louis Rallies Past Pacific, 67-60

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's basketball let a 44-33 halftime advantage slip away in a 67-60 non-conference loss to Saint Louis (7-2) on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Alex G. Spanos Center. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 3-7 on the season.

Pacific fell behind early in the game, as Saint Louis scored the first five points of the game. An early 8-2 run gave the Tigers an 8-7 lead, the first of nine lead changes in the first half. Pacific ended the half on a 14-4 run to take 44-33 lead. Sophomore Steffan Johnson (Kent, Wash.) scored the Tigers' first 13 points as he scored all of his 18 points in the first half. Johnson was 7-of-7 from the field in the first half, hitting all three of his three-point attempts.

After trading baskets to start the second half, Saint Louis went on a 15-3 run over the next nine minutes to take a 50-49 lead with 9:53 remaining. The teams traded the lead six times over the next four minutes, but a jumper by Luke Meyer with 4:53 left gave the Billikens the lead for good. After taking a 58-57 lead with 5:07 remaining, the Tigers scored just two points the rest of the game.

The Tigers shot a season high 58.6% in the first half, but a season low 20.0% in the second half.

Sophomore Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) added 13 points and a team-high six rebounds while junior Solomon Horsechief (Muskogee, Okla.) added 10 points for the Tigers.

Ian Vouyoukas led the Billikens with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Tommie Liddell added 17 points.

Pacific is next in action with a non-conference contest at No. 21 Nevada on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
