Pacific lost a 71-60 decision to Hawai'i in the third place game at the Great Alaska Shootout on Saturday, Nov. 25. The Tigers fell to 2-3 on the season, while Hawai'i improved to 4-2.
Hawai'i used an early 12-0 run to take a 17-4 lead with 13:02 left in the first half. The Tigers scored the next five points, but another 8-0 Hawai'i burst led to a 25-9 lead and Pacific trailed by 10 points or more the rest of the game.
The Tigers turned the ball over 19 times in the game, including 14 turnovers in the first half that led to 19 of the Rainbow Warriors' 34 first half points. The Tigers trailed 34-20 at the break.
Tiger Sophomore Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) had his third straight double-double, with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman C. J. Morgan (Elk Grove, Calif.) added 14 points and two steals, while junior Solomon HorseChief (Muskogee, Okla.) had 10 points and five assists.
Brown earned All-Tournament honors for the Tigers.
