Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers women's tennis team moved to 2-1 on the season as the Tigers blanked Hawai'i, 7-0, on Monday, Jan. 30.
The loss dropped the Rainbow Wahine to 0-4 on the season.
Pacific started the match by claiming the doubles point, 2-1. Senior Natalia Kostenko (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and freshman Carla Tamborini (Arcadia, Calif.) were victorious at the No. 2 doubles position, 8-1. After the Tigers dropped the No. 3 doubles match, Pacific claimed the point as junior Vana Mrazovic (Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro) and freshman Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany) won at the No. 1 position, 8-4.
In singles action, Pacific claimed all six points in straight set, led by Mrazovic and freshman Clara Schuhmacher (Zaragoza, Spain) who each dropped only two games.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m.
