Pacific rallies from down eight to defeat San Francisco, 75-71

San Francisco, Calif. - Tied 67-67 at the end of regulation, the Pacific Tigers men's basketball team held San Francisco scoreless for more than four minutes in overtime as the Tigers defeated the Dons, 75-71, on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

With the win, Pacific moved to 4-2 on the season, while the Dons fell to 1-4.

Tigers' senior Johnny Gray (Agoura Hills, Calif.) was 5-for-6 from the free throw line in the extra period. Senior Christian Maraker (Varberg, Sweden) scored three points, including the first basket of overtime on a short jumper.

Trailing 61-53 with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, Pacific scored eight straight points to tie the game at 61-61 with 2:53 remaining. Junior Michael White (Capitola, Calif.) had four of his career-high 16 points during the run to lead the Tigers back.

In a back-and-forth first half, Pacific led by as many as three points on two occasions, while the Dons led by five points early in the half and held a 39-35 lead at the break.

Freshman Steffan Johnson (Kent, Wash.) led the Tigers with 17 points. San Francisco got a game-high 20 points from Armondo Surratt.

Pacific will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 3 as the Tigers host No. 20 Nevada in the Alex G. Spanos Center at 7 p.m.
