GAME NOTES...
Last time out...
Pacific put together one of its most complete performances of the season together on Saturday against San Diego when the Tigers blew out the Toreros, 79-47. Senior Ameela Li and sophomores Brooklyn McDavid and Valerie Higgins both finished in double figures. Li neared a triple-double with 12 points, 8 steals and 7 assists. Her 8 steals were the third most in a game in program history and the most in a game since 1998.
Big year in the making...
Pacific's 10-5 start is the team's best since the 2012-13 season when the Tigers went 12-3 through their first 15 games. That year, the Tigers ran to the Third Round of the WNIT.
Big day for Li...
Against San Diego on 1/12, Ameela Li nearly had a triple double with 12 points, 8 steals and 7 assists. It would have been just the fourth triple-double in program history and the first points-steals-assists triple-double. Her eight steals were the third most in a game in program history and the most in a game since 1998.
10 for 14..
Valerie Higgins has scored at least 10 points in every game so far this year which brings her streak to 14 games. It is the longest
streak of any active player at Pacific. If she extends her streak to 20 games, it would be the longest since the 1990-91 season.
Don't foul 'em...
The Tigers are shooting .878 (29-33) in the final four minutes of games when the two teams are separated by eight or fewer points.
Three's company...
Three players for Pacific are averaging at least 14 points a game this year. Higgins leads the team lead with 16.5 points per game while Li is just behind with 16.2. Brooklyn McDavid has climbed up to 14.9 points per game in recent weeks. All three are top-10 in the WCC in points per game.
Strong starts...
A key for Pacific this year has been how it starts games. The Tigers have trailed just once after the first quarter this year and are 8-2 when they take a lead into the second quarter.
FOR THREE!!!!
Ameela Li's numbers from beyond the arc this year are some of the best in program history. If the season ended today, her 47.4% clip from three-point range would be the third-best in program history. The record is 50.0%.
Race to 70...
The Tigers are 9-1 when scoring 70+ points this season. The sole loss came against BYU, which go to the 70-point plateau before the Tigers.
League Leaders...
Pacific either leads the league as individuals or as a team in the following categories:
Turnovers forced per game (team; 18.4)
Turnovers forced (team; 96)

Scouting the Broncos...
The 9-7 Broncos come into their tilt against the Tigers having won two of their five last games which includes a triple-overtime win at Loyola Marymount in their last game. Santa Clara and Pacific have played two like opponents in the non-conference season in Cal. St. Fullerton and San Jose State, both teams picked up wins in those games. Notably, Pacific's biggest win of the year so far came over San Diego, a team that Santa Clara lost to 57-49.
