Lenoir Ramos, Jr.

Lenoir Ramos, Jr. joined the Tigers as an assistant coach in the fall of 2015 after serving as the assistant coach at UNLV for two seasons.

At UNLV, he helped the Rebels to the Mountain West Conference championship and the NCAA Second Round in 2013, coaching a pair of regional champions, Aleksandra Josifoska and Lucia Batta. UNLV finished 2013 with a final ranking of 49.

Beginning in 2014, Ramos was the High Performance Tennis Coach and ITF Juniors Traveling Coach, and hitting partner of several professional players at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida

He also served as the volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, Texas Tech University.

As a player at Texas Tech, he was one of the top singles and doubles players in the Big XII as the Red Raiders finished ranked No. 17 in 2008. He earned a degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Texas Tech in 2010. While in college, he also served as a summer head pro in clubs in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

As a junior player, he was ranked in the Top 50 in the world by the ITF, competing in the French Open in 2002 and 2003, a grand slam event. Growing up in Brazil, Ramos was the number one ranked player at his age level (under-12, under-14, under-16 and under-18).

As a professional player he competed on Tour for six years, rising to a ranking of 625 by the ATP. He played against several top 100 players, such as Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro and posted his best victory against Simon Bolelli, the 2015 Australian Open Doubles Champion.

Ramos is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
