2016 (Freshman):
Silva kicked off her Track and Field by postinga 19:37.81 in the 5,000 Meter during the Johnny Mathis Invitational. At the following Kim Duyst Invite, Silva posted a 5:23.54 during the 1,500 Meter distance, which was good for a 22nd place finish. The Manteca, Calif. native bested her previous 5,000 Meter time at the Hornet Invite with a time of 18:50.37, which was nearly a minute faster than her previous season-best. Silva continued to improve on her times as she cut into her 1,500 Meter mark with a time of 5:08.31 during the San Francisco State Distance Carnival. On day two of the Distance Carnival, Silva ran the two mile distance in 11:33.93 which was the second-best mark in program history. In the final race of the season, Silva posted a career-best 5:05.68 in the 1,500 Meter at the Bronco Invite.
High School:
Silva comes to the Tigers from Sierra High School in Manteca, where she competed in both cross country and track. Most recently, Silva finished third at the Sac-Joaquin Section cross country championships in Folsom on November 15. Her time of of 19:30 qualified for the state championships, which will be held on November 29 in Fresno. Silva''s best time in her senior campaign came at the Pacific Tiger High School Invite on September 27 at Stockton''s Elkhorn Golf Course. Silva finished the 5K race in 19:17. Other top performances this fall included meet titles at the Sierra Cross Country Invite and two Valley Oak League competitions. Haley finished second at the Valley Oak League Championship Meet this season.
