A multi-sport athlete at Manteca High School, Rios specialized in the shot put on the track & field team while also competing on the cross country team. Starting throwing in her sophomore year and was a three-year varsity letter winner. Placed third in the Valley Oak League Championships in the shot put while also being a finalist and earning a fourth-place finish at the Sac-Joaquin Sectional Championships during her senior season.
