2016:
Whitson completed her fourth year alongside Alicja Wilk going 5-10 in the second pairing. She hit .272 with 153 kills and 155 digs on the year. Whitson''s highest output was 18 kills, recorded against Sacramento State and against Boise State. She had 23 digs against Sacramento State for a season-high. Against San Jose State, Whitson hit .722, with 14 kills in 18 attempts and just one error. She had six double-doubles on the year.
2015:
Alongside of her partner Alicja Wilk, Whitson played both No. 3 and No. 4 in the order for the Tigers while sporting a 16-5 overall record. Early in the year, the duo played at No. 4 going 9-5 before moving to No. 3 where the two were a perfect 7-0 to finish the season. Overall, Whitson finished the year with 216 kills and 234 digs to go along with a team-high 55 aces.
2014:
Whitson spent the season locked in at No. 2 for the Tigers while playing with two different teammates. She found her groove midway through the year when partnered with Alicja Wilk she finished the year 6-5 overall, but 4-2 while playing with Wilk. The duo''s run began during the first match in April as they rolled off five-straight wins before falling to a pair of ranked teams to end the season.
2013:
In her first year in the sand, Whitson played primarily in the Tigers'' No. 4 spot, pairing with Pacific''s newcomer, freshman Alicja Wilk for much of the year. Whitson and Wilk put their name in the Tigers'' record books on Mar. 19 against USC as the duo became the first Pacific pair to record a match victory, defeating Kati Duddridge and Sam Hirschmann in three sets, 15-21, 21-19, 15-11. She finished the match with 11 kills and 12 digs. Her best effort came against San Francisco on April 7 when she recorded 22 kills to go along with 12 digs and seven aces. For the year, Kimmy posted 110 kills, 100 digs, and 26 aces.
High School/Club:
The orchestrator of one of the top teams in the state of California, Whitson guided her Vikings to back-to-back state titles as both a junior and senior. As a junior, Kimmy and the Vikings posted a nearly flawless record in 2010 as Palo Alto went 41-1 on the year en route to the title. A 2010 All-Santa Clara Valley Athletic League selection as a junior, Whitson averaged 10.7 assists per game while leading the team to a .311 hitting percentage. Defensively, Whitson posted 54 total blocks, second best on the team, and 167 digs, fourth best among Viking players. As a senior, Whitson led the Vikings to a 36-3 overall mark and a perfect 12-0 record in league play as they successfully defended their California state title. As a team, Whitson guided the Vikings to an impressive .412 hitting percentage while averaging just under 10 assists per game.
Personal:
Kimberly Whitson is from Palo Alto, Calif. and is the daughter of Debbie and Bruce Whitson. Her older sister, Allison, starred at UC Davis where she finished her decorated four-year career in 2012. Kimmy is a computing and applied economics major while at Pacific.
