No stranger to Stockton or the Bay Area, Tiger Shelton was named the interim head coach for the Pacific beach volleyball program.
Shelton has spent the past four decades coaching volleyball in Sacramento, Stockton, Lodi and Modesto. Most recently, he was the head volleyball coach at Jessup University in Rocklin, California.
Shelton spent the past four years at Jessup and guided them to the programs first GSAC Championship and sent the team to its first ever NAIA Opening Round. The feat earned him GSAC Coach of the Year and AVCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2022.
Under his direction, Shelton produced 2 NAIA All-Americans, 19 scholar-athletes and 7 all-conference players at Jessup.
In 2014, he founded Pacific Coast Volleyball Club in Stockton, serving as both coach and director of the club for five years.
Prior to 2014, Shelton spent 34 years coaching club volleyball, high school volleyball and high performance. He was the head coach at Delta Valley from 2004-2014 in Lodi, California and spent many years as both the Director of Athletics and head volleyball coach at Ripon Christian School.
Shelton stepped on campus with the 2024 season right around the corner. A new challenge presented itself when he got the call, but it was his new athletes that inspired him and continue to inspire him day in and day out.
